Your suppressed fire
What the Dimmed Fire Is Costing You

The fire that is lowest in your profile is not absent — it is suppressed. And the suppression has a specific cost in your life right now: a dimension of your energy, creativity, or purpose that is not available to you because the fire that governs it has not been adequately tended. Understanding this cost — and what rekindled it — changes the entire energy equation.

About the 4-Fires Quiz

The Vedic tradition identifies four internal fires — Agnis — that govern the quality and availability of energy across different domains of life. Unlike the Western model of a single metabolism, Ayurveda and Yoga distinguish between the fire that digests food (Jatharagni), the fire of creative intelligence (Dhi-agni), the fire of transformation and will (Tejas), and the subtle fire of spiritual vitality (Ojas). This quiz identifies which of the four is currently dominant, which is suppressed, and what the imbalance means for your daily energy, purpose, and practice.

Why Agni Imbalance Matters

In the Vedic framework, most physical, mental, and spiritual problems can be traced to Agni imbalance. The digestive fire that is too low produces ama (undigested residue) — not just in the gut but in the mind, in relationships, and in creative work. The transformative fire that is suppressed leaves experiences unprocessed and patterns unchanged. The spiritual fire that is depleted results in a loss of meaning, even when all external conditions appear fine. Identifying which fire needs attention is the first step toward genuine rebalancing.

The Four Fires Quiz

The four fires — Jatharagni, Bhutagni, Dhatvagni, and the metaphorical fires of aspiration — appear across Vedic and Yogic texts as the fundamental forces of transformation operating within the human system. This quiz identifies which of the four fires is burning most intensely in you right now, and what that means for your practice and life.

Jatharagni — The Digestive Fire

The primary fire governing digestion, metabolism, and the transformation of experience into nourishment. In Ayurveda, all disease begins with impaired Jatharagni. Psychologically, it governs how well you process experience rather than accumulating undigested impressions.

Bhutagni — The Elemental Fires

Five elemental fires corresponding to the five bhutas. They govern how the body assimilates different qualities of food and experience. Each element's fire has a distinct psychological correlate.

Dhatvagni — The Tissue Fires

Seven fires corresponding to the seven dhatus (bodily tissues). They govern the progressive refinement of physical vitality into subtler forms of energy — ultimately into Ojas, the essence of immunity and spiritual luminosity.

The Fire of Tapas

The metaphorical fire of disciplined spiritual practice — the heat generated by tapas that burns through conditioning, purifies the mind, and generates the concentrated energy that makes insight and transformation possible.
