First, check your breath

In the yogic system, the breath rarely flows equally through both nostrils. One side is almost always more open — and which side reveals which nadi, which energy channel, is currently dominant. This shifts naturally through the day, roughly every 90 minutes.

Close your right nostril, breathe through the left. Then switch. Notice which side the air moves through more freely.
